R.Korner presenta un estratto di “Artcore Duo XV”, il progetto co-prodotto insieme a Gaston Fiore in uscita giovedì 9 luglio 2026. Ascolta in anteprima “Take a Break” e leggi l’intervista.
R. Korner firma la sua quinta uscita sull’etichetta di Indira Paganotto con un nuovo progetto che restituisce una fotografia nitida del suo stile.
Producer e DJ milanese con un background che intreccia cultura psytrance, studi in ingegneria del suono e club culture, R. Korner ha progressivamente plasmato un linguaggio personale in cui hard techno, psichedelia e suggestioni orientali convivono in un equilibrio pensato per il dancefloor.
“Take a Break” e “Just My Ex”, le due tracce di “Artcore Duo XV” prodotte da R. Korner, si inseriscono in questa traiettoria come un ulteriore passo nell’evoluzione del suo suono, tecnica e stilistica. Un lavoro che riflette anni di ricerca in studio. R.Korner, infatti, è anche un audio engineer, docente di Electronic Music Production al SAE Institute Milano e fondatore di uno studio di recording e mastering.
In anteprima su Parkett ascoltiamo “Take a Break”, una traccia posizionata in uno spazio sospeso tra hard techno e psytrance, in cui emerge la componente più trance del linguaggio di R.Korner. Tesa tra tra euforia e ipnosi, la matrice techno resta il baricentro della traccia, attraversata da contaminazioni che affondano le radici nella scena psytrance.
Se “Take a Break” conferma il background trance di R.Korner, “Just My Ex” mette in evidenza una direzione più bounce e immediata. Insieme, i due brani restituiscono con precisione il momento artistico che R.Korner sta attraversando oggi: una fase in cui influenze diverse convivono senza gerarchie, dando forma a un suono dinamico, ricco e personale.

Ciao Riccardo, benvenuto su Parkett. Il sodalizio con Artcore è più solido che mai con l’uscita del tuo quinto progetto sulla label spagnola. Dai primi studi in SAE alla residenza milanese di VOID, quali sono stati i passi essenziali che ti hanno introdotto all’etichetta curata da Indira Paganotto?
Ciao Gaia, grazie mille per l’invito.
Pensandoci, credo che ogni piccolo passo del mio percorso sia stato fondamentale per costruire un rapporto di credibilità e professionalità tra me e Artcore. Ogni esperienza ha contribuito a definirmi come artista, portandomi naturalmente verso una label che mi rappresenta e in cui sento di poter trovare il giusto spazio.
Dal mio passato nella scena psytrance, allo studio della tecnica e dell’ingegneria del suono, fino alla gavetta della residenza a Milano, ogni fase è servita a costruire qualcosa di solido e autentico.
Ho conosciuto Indira nel 2023 e credo che fin da subito ci sia stato un certo feeling dal punto di vista musicale. Ciò ha fatto sì che venissi sempre preso molto in considerazione all’interno del progetto discografico Artcore.
Il tuo stile incontra perfettamente le sonorità della label: un mix eclettico di hard techno, trance e techno. Ne è un esempio ”Take a Break”, che mantiene un’anima trance prendendo in prestito alcuni elementi dalla techno.
Cosa rappresenta in questo momento del tuo percorso e come si posiziona all’interno del tuo catalogo? Anticipa una chiara direzione o un possibile cambiamento?
Sai, non credo di avere una direzione precisa. Cerco sempre di seguire ciò che mi ispira di più in uno specifico momento. Allo stesso tempo, non parlerei di un cambiamento, perché le mie produzioni sono sempre state piuttosto diverse tra loro. Ci sono momenti in cui mi sento più vicino all’hard, altri alla trance e altri ancora alla techno.
Cerco anche di leggere il mercato, sarebbe ipocrita dire il contrario, provando a mantenere sempre una mia identità sonora.
“Take a Break” rappresenta probabilmente il mio periodo più trance, affiancata dall’altra traccia dell’EP, “Just My Ex”, che mostra invece un lato decisamente più bounce. In questo senso credo che il progetto racconti bene il momento artistico che sto vivendo ora.

La psytrance rappresenta un punto d’incontro essenziale tra te, il tuo passato sul dancefloor e il DNA artistico di Artcore. Quali artisti, festival o collettivi ti hanno avvicinato a questa scena e quali ti ispirano ancora oggi?
Ho avuto la fortuna di partecipare a numerosi festival psytrance, come Ozora o Sonica, e di lasciarmi ispirare da artisti come Ajja, Liquid Soul e Tristan, oltre che da collettivi e label come Monkeysexplosion, Parvati, Sangoma e Looney Moon.
Sono realtà che mi hanno formato profondamente, sia dal punto di vista artistico che personale, e che ancora oggi considero dei punti di riferimento. Mi piacerebbe tornare presto a vivere qualche festival psy e, perché no, suonarci nuovamente.

Restando in tema Artcore, quest’estate suonerò con loro all’Hï Ibiza il 16 agosto, in lineup con Indira, Sam Paganini e Charlie Sparks. Successivamente ci sarà qualcosa di speciale… ma per il momento niente spoiler :).

Hi Riccardo, welcome to Parkett. Your partnership with Artcore is stronger than ever with the release of your fifth project on the Spanish label. From your studies at SAE to your residency at Milan’s VOID, what were the key steps that led you to the label curated by Indira Paganotto?
Hi Gaia, and thank you so much for having me.
Looking back, I think every small step in my journey has been essential in building a relationship of trust and professionalism between myself and Artcore. Every experience has helped shape my artistic identity and naturally led me toward a label that I felt truly represented me, and where I felt I could find the right space to express myself.
From my background in the psytrance scene, to studying production techniques and sound engineering, and then putting in the hard work through my residency in Milan, every stage contributed to building something solid and authentic.
I met Indira in 2023, and I think there was an immediate connection in terms of our musical taste. That mutual understanding meant I was consistently considered an important part of the Artcore label project from the very beginning.
Your sound perfectly matches the label’s identity: an eclectic blend of hard techno, trance, and techno. “Take a Break” is a great example of this, maintaining a strong trance soul while borrowing elements from techno.
What does this release represent at this point of your journey, and where does it sit within your catalogue? Does it point towards a clear direction or perhaps signal a change?
You know, I don’t think I have one specific direction. I always try to follow whatever inspires me the most at a particular moment in my journey. At the same time, I wouldn’t really call it a change, because I think my productions have always been quite diverse. There are periods when I feel more drawn to hard sounds, others when I lean towards trance, and others where techno becomes the main focus.
I also try to stay aware of the market—it would be hypocritical to say otherwise—while always making sure to preserve my own sonic identity.
“Take a Break” probably represents the most trance-oriented phase of my music so far. At the same time, it’s paired with the other track on the EP, Just My Ex, which showcases a much more bounce-driven side of my sound. In that sense, I think the project captures very well the artistic moment I’m living right now.
C: Marco Del Borrello
Psytrance represents an essential meeting point between your past on the dancefloor and the artistic DNA of Artcore. Which artists, festivals or collectives first brought you closer to this scene, and which ones continue to inspire you today?
I’ve been fortunate enough to attend several psytrance festivals, such as Ozora and Sonica, and to draw inspiration from artists like Ajja, Liquid Soul, and Tristan, as well as collectives and labels such as Monkeysexplosion, Parvati, Sangoma, and Looney Moon.
These are all projects that have deeply shaped me, both artistically and personally, and I still consider them important points of reference today. I’d love to experience a few psy festivals again in the near future and, why not, have the chance to play there once more.
