_ophelioo – project_0

19 Agosto 2026

_ophelioo enters the electronic landscape with project_0, a debut that feels less like a simple introduction and more like the opening chapter of a world still taking shape. Across its two tracks, “Intero” and “Mona Lisa”, the producer brings together House and Baile Funk influences, building a sound that is energetic without becoming predictable. There is a clear interest in rhythm here, but also in atmosphere: the music wants to move, certainly, yet it also wants to leave a particular image behind.

“Intero” immediately establishes that physical side of the project. Its groove is firm and tightly controlled, with percussion doing much of the work in keeping the track constantly in motion. The rhythmic architecture has the directness associated with contemporary club music, while the Baile Funk influence adds a sharper, more restless character. Rather than overloading the arrangement, _ophelioo allows the beat to remain central, creating space for the hooks to settle naturally into the listener’s memory. It is a confident choice for a debut.

The synth work adds another layer to this equation. Instead of simply decorating the rhythmic foundation, the electronic textures help shape the personality of the tracks, moving between brightness and something considerably darker. That contrast becomes one of the more interesting aspects of project_0. The production can feel immediate and almost playful for a moment, then suddenly acquire a more mysterious edge. It mirrors the visual language surrounding the project, where black-and-white imagery, Saturnalian references and cryptic storytelling suggest that there is more happening beneath the surface.

“Mona Lisa” develops these ideas without simply repeating the formula. Its groove remains catchy, but the atmosphere feels slightly more elusive, giving the track a different kind of pull. The rhythmic elements are again precise and purposeful, while the synth layers contribute to a cinematic quality that prevents the production from sounding like a straightforward genre exercise. There is an understanding of how repetition works in electronic music, and how a small variation in texture or emphasis can keep a loop alive rather than merely functional.

That sense of atmosphere may ultimately be what makes _ophelioo’s debut particularly intriguing. The producer has described his creative process as being guided less by individual artists than by genres, philosophical concepts and moods, and project_0 reflects that approach. The music feels connected to a larger fictional environment, even though only two tracks are currently available to explore it. The cryptic presentation does not overwhelm the songs; instead, it gives them another dimension, encouraging the listener to wonder where this aesthetic might lead next.

There is also something refreshing in the fact that project_0 does not attempt to explain everything. As a first official solo project, it functions as a statement of intent rather than a definitive summary of _ophelioo’s identity. His production journey began with GarageBand in 2018 before moving towards Logic Pro, remixes and years of experimentation across different styles. That background is evident in the sense of exploration running through these tracks. Nothing feels completely settled, and that is precisely part of their appeal.

For a debut, the balance between immediacy and mystery is remarkably effective. “Intero” and “Mona Lisa” offer rigid grooves and memorable hooks, but they also leave enough unanswered questions to make project_0 feel like the beginning of something rather than a finished destination. _ophelioo has created a compact introduction with a recognisable rhythmic identity, carefully shaped synth work and an atmosphere that extends beyond the music itself. It is a high-quality release and one we are happy to host on our webzine, particularly because its strongest quality may be the promise of what comes next.
