Il DJ e produttore berlinese CRYME debutta sull’etichetta HE.SHE.THEY. Records con “Let It Move You”, un EP di tre tracce (più edit), in uscita oggi.
CRYME racconta nel suo percorso musicale un’ idea di elettronica multiforme, espressa nei suoi set e nelle sue produzioni in una perfetta fusione tra house e techno. Dopo l’EP “Backroom” del 2023, il produttore ha conquistato palchi di contesti prestigiosi come Boiler Room e di club come Basement New York.
Un altro punto fondamentale del percorso di CRYME è rappresentato dall’impegno nella costruzione di vere e proprie comunità. Oltre a essere resident per Pornceptual e De Reünie, nel 2024 ha co-fondato SEVEN, una piattaforma queer che sta rapidamente diventando un punto di riferimento per la scena internazionale.
Ma veniamo all’ ultimo lavoro che oggi CRYME ci presenta su Parkett: “Let It Move You“. La title track apre l’EP con un groove pulsante, costruito su una linea di basso fluida e percussioni serrate, mentre un hook vocale ipnotico si insinua nell’ascoltatore. Qui, energia e ripetizione si fondono perfettamente.
Il viaggio prosegue con “Since I Saw You“, dalle note più introspettivo: il ritmo si fa più morbido e avvolgente, quasi nostalgico. È una traccia che mostra la sensibilità di CRYME nell’ esprimere le emozioni, senza perdere di vista il contatto con il dancefloor.
A chiudere, “Organic Liquid Tester” si spinge verso scenari più dark. Il sound si fa più sperimentale, giocando su texture fluide e variazioni ritmiche che mantengono costante il movimento.
“Let It Move You” supera lo scenario del club ed indaga su differenti concetti; dal ritmo alla connessione, ma parla anche di evoluzione e appartenenza a una comunità. CRYME dimostra, ancora una volta, di avere una visione chiara e una sensibilità rara, capace di tradurre l’energia della pista in un linguaggio personale.

Ciao CRYME e benvenuto su Parkett, è un piacere averti con noi! Come stanno andando le cose per te e la tua musica ultimamente?
Ciao, è un piacere essere qui e sì, le cose stanno andando davvero bene grazie. Ho un sacco di musica fantastica in uscita, questo bel pezzo su “HE.SHE.THEY” e la prossima settimana apriamo il nostro negozio di dischi SEVEN a Berlino, quindi sì, ahah, siamo super impegnati!
“Let It Move You” è il tuo debutto su HE.SHE.THEY.; cosa rappresenta per te questa uscita e come si inserisce nel percorso musicale che hai sviluppato finora?
Sì, hai ragione, è un punto interessante per me perché è un po’ diverso da quello che ho fatto prima ed è proprio per questo che ero molto entusiasta. Di solito sono immerso nella mia bolla underground e, anche se HE.SHE.THEY. non è un’etichetta commerciale “pesante”, è un po’ più commerciale rispetto ai miei soliti canali. E lo dico in senso assolutamente positivo. Hanno più passaggi su BBC Radio, hanno il loro programma radio sindacato, il loro pubblico è più propenso a fare streaming piuttosto che comprare su Bandcamp. Quindi questo è stato uno dei motivi per cui ho voluto farlo: volevo provare un tipo diverso di canale per la mia musica e vedere chi potrei raggiungere attraverso questo.
I tre brani rappresentano stati d’animo molto diversi: dalla spinta iniziale del brano principale, al viaggio introspettivo di “Since I Saw You”, fino al lato più oscuro di “Organic Liquid Tester”. Puoi raccontarci il filo narrativo che li collega?
Sì, sono davvero stati d’animo molto diversi ed è stata una scelta intenzionale. A dire la verità, in questo progetto non c’è un forte filo narrativo: sono più come prospettive diverse sulla stessa cosa. Spesso nella vita persone diverse guardano la stessa situazione o affrontano una difficoltà attraverso lenti molto differenti, e a volte io posso essere tutte quelle persone insieme. Puoi vivere una certa esperienza e il modo in cui la affronti dipende più dalla tua scelta e dal tuo atteggiamento di quanto pensi. Quindi questi brani sono tutti me che guardo la stessa situazione da prospettive diverse. E mi sembrava che questo si adattasse bene a HE.SHE.THEY., dato che la diversità e l’accettazione sono al centro del loro progetto.
Cosa ha ispirato l’EP? E come si è svolto il processo di produzione?
Ho sempre amato e rispettato HE.SHE.THEY. e volevo creare qualcosa che fosse chiaramente fedele a me ma che riflettesse anche l’etichetta e la serie di eventi. Ho passato un po’ di tempo ad ascoltare HE.SHE.THEY. Radio per entrare davvero nel loro mood e poi mi sono preso qualche settimana senza ascoltarla più. Volevo avere come un eco di loro nella mia mente, ma senza essere troppo guidato o influenzato da quello che avevo appena ascoltato. Sono piuttosto prolifico in studio, quindi ho semplicemente lasciato che il mio flusso naturale di produzione accadesse e, man mano che i brani prendevano forma, pensavo: “Questo è perfetto per HE.SHE.THEY.”. Il resto è venuto in modo organico da lì.
Inoltre, sei anche molto attivo nella scena con progetti come SEVEN e varie residency: quanto influenza questo lato collettivo la tua musica?
Sì, SEVEN è il mio lavoro a tempo pieno e la mia passione. Amo stare lì e sono in ufficio dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 9:00 alle 18:00. Il che è piuttosto incredibile, considerando che prima di SEVEN non mi avresti mai visto fuori dal letto prima delle 11! Non avrei mai pensato di avere un lavoro a tempo pieno così, oltre alla mia carriera musicale. È incredibile cosa succede quando trovi un lavoro che ami! E immagino che influenzi la mia musica perché significa che sono costantemente immerso in grande musica.
Considerando come sta andando quest’anno, come pensi che il tuo sound evolverà nei prossimi mesi e quali progetti puoi anticiparci?
Penso che, come per molti artisti, il mio sound sia sempre in evoluzione. Ultimamente sto andando verso un sound house più dub e più essenziale, e qualche settimana fa ho fatto un set all’ELSE per la loro apertura che mi è piaciuto molto. Per caso, il giorno dopo ho trovato una registrazione di un mio set di tre anni fa e ascoltandolo mi sono reso conto di quanto la mia musica sia cambiata in quel periodo. E credo sia una cosa positiva. Dimostra che sono ancora curioso verso nuovi suoni e che mi sto godendo sempre di più il processo creativo.
Per quanto riguarda i nuovi progetti… beh, forse posso dirti che sto lavorando al mio primo album? Siete i primi fuori da SEVEN a saperlo! Sarà composto da 10 tracce in digitale e probabilmente anche in vinile. Mi sto davvero divertendo a scegliere i brani e costruire un percorso. Penso che uscirà nella primavera del 2027.

CRYME and Let It Move You: pure energy between techno and house
Berlin-based DJ and producer CRYME makes his debut on HE.SHE.THEY. Another key aspect of CRYME’s journey is his dedication to building genuine communities. In addition to being a resident DJ for Pornceptual and De Reünie, in 2024 he co-founded “SEVEN,” a queer platform that is quickly becoming a reference point for the international scene.
Now, let’s focus on his latest release presented today on Parkett: “Let It Move You.”
The title track opens the EP with a pulsating groove built on a fluid bassline and tight percussion, while a hypnotic vocal hook gradually pulls the listener in. Here, energy and repetition merge seamlessly.
The journey continues with “Since I Saw You“, which takes on a more introspective tone: the rhythm becomes softer and more enveloping, almost nostalgic. It’s a track that showcases CRYME’s sensitivity in conveying emotion without losing sight of the connection to the dancefloor.
To close, “Organic Liquid Tester” moves into darker territory. The sound becomes more experimental, playing with fluid textures and rhythmic variations that maintain a constant sense of motion.
“Let It Move You” goes beyond the club scene and explores different concepts; from rhythm to connection, while also touching on evolution and belonging to a community. CRYME once again demonstrates a clear vision and a rare sensitivity, able to translate the energy of the dance floor into a personal language.

Hi CRYME and welcome to Parkett, it’s a pleasure to have you with us! How have things been going for you and your music lately?
Hi there, Great to be with you and yes, things are going really nicely thanks. Got a bunch of great music coming out, this lovely one on HE.SHE.THEY and we’re opening our SEVEN record store in Berlin next week so yeah, lol, it’s all go!
Let It Move You is your debut on HE.SHE.THEY.; what does this release represent for you, and how does it fit into the musical path you’ve developed so far?
Yeah you’re right it’s an interesting point for me because it’s a little different to what I have done before and that’s why I was quite excited about it. I am normally deep in my underground bubble and whilst HE.SHE.THEY is not a big horrible commercial label, they are a bit more commercial than my normal outlet and I mean that in a really positive way. They get more BBC Radio play, they have their own syndicated radio show, their fan base is more likely to stream music than buy on Bandcamp. So that was a good part of why i wanted to do it. I wanted to try a different type of outlet for my music and see who I might reach through it.
The three tracks represent very different moods: from the initial drive of the title track, to the introspective journey of ‘Since I Saw You’, and the darker side of ‘Organic Liquid Tester’ – can you tell us about the narrative thread connecting them?
Yes they are quite different moods and that was deliberate, I think on this release to be honest there isn’t a strong narrative thread, they are more like different perspectives on the same thing. Often in life I think that different people look at the same situation or struggle through really different lenses and sometimes I can be all of those people in one. Sometimes you can have a certain experience and how you handle or think about it is more in your choosing and your attitude than maybe you think. So I think these tracks are all me looking at the same situation from different perspectives. And I thought that kind of fitted HE.SHE.THEY given diversity and acceptance are at their core.
What inspired the EP? And how did the production process unfold overall?
I have really loved and respected He.She.They for a long time and I wanted to create something that was obviously true to me but also reflected the label and the event series. I spent quite a bit of time listening to HE.SHE.THEY. Radio and really getting in touch with their vibe and then I took some weeks off and didn’t listen to any. I wanted to have like an echo of them in my mind but not be too led or influenced by what I had just heard. I’m pretty prolific in the studio so I just allowed my normal output to happen and as tracks formed I would think “That’s one for HE.SHE.THEY.”. And the rest of it just happened organically from there.
In addition, you’re also very active in the scene with projects like SEVEN and various residencies; how much does this collective side influence your music?
Yes, SEVEN is my full time job and my passion. I love being there and i’m there in the office Monday to Friday 0900 to 1800. Which is pretty amazing given that pre-SEVEN you wouldn’t catch me out of bed for 11am! I never would have thought I would have a full time job like this as well as my music career. Amazing what happens when you find a job that you love! And I guess it does influence my music because it means I am immersed in great music
Considering how this year has been going, how do you think your sound will evolve in the coming months, and what projects can you tell us about?
I think like most artists my sound is always evolving. I’ve been going down a really dubby, more stripped back house vibe lately and I did a set at ELSE for their opening a few weeks ago that I really enjoyed. By chance the next day I stumbled upon a recording of a set that i had made three years ago and when I heard it back it really made me realise how much my music has changed over that time. Which I think is good, it shows I am still curious about new sounds and am definitely enjoying making music more and moire
In terms of new projects… well maybe I could tell you that I am working on my first Album? You’re the first people outside of SEVEN to know that! It’s going to be 10 tracks on digital and probably also Vinyl. I am really enjoying choosing the tracks and making a journey with it. WIll be out I think in Spring of 2027.
