Akoriz e NUSHA si incontrano su “Black Eyes”, una collaborazione che mette in dialogo due identità tra le più riconoscibili della scena hard techno contemporanea.
Da una parte, l’approccio di Akoriz, attento a costruire un sound personale e riconoscibile senza lasciarsi guidare dalle sole tendenze del momento; dall’altra, l’universo sonoro di NUSHA, fatto di hard techno, melodie emozionali, acid, trance e incursioni industriali.
Una traccia in cui acid line, bassline e vocal diventano il punto d’incontro tra due sensibilità diverse, ma accomunate dalla volontà di trasformare l’energia della pista in musica.
In occasione della release di “Black Eyes” su Verknipt Records, abbiamo incontrato Akoriz e NUSHA per parlare della nascita della collaborazione, del loro rapporto con il dancefloor e del ruolo del pubblico nelle rispettive scelte artistiche. Un confronto che racconta anche una fase importante dei loro percorsi: dalla ricerca di una propria identità musicale alle nuove direzioni che stanno esplorando, passando per future produzioni, nuove collaborazioni e la voglia di continuare a spingere i confini della hard techno senza rinunciare alla componente emozionale.
Benvenuti su Parkett, Akoriz e Nusha. Iniziamo da “Black Eyes”, la vostra nuova collaborazione in uscita su Verknipt Records. Come è nata, concretamente, questa collaborazione? Qual è stata la scintilla che vi ha portati a lavorare insieme?
Akoriz: La collaborazione è nata in modo molto naturale. Nusha suonava già da tempo alcuni miei brani nei suoi set, quindi tra noi esisteva già una connessione musicale. Una sera stavamo parlando, probabilmente perché le avevo mandato della musica nuova, e a un certo punto è venuta fuori l’idea: “Sarebbe bello fare una traccia insieme.” Ci siamo detti: perché non provarci? Ed è così che è iniziato tutto.
Nusha: Per me questa collaborazione è iniziata come una sfida. La musica crea connessioni tra le persone e, dato che suonavo già diversi brani di Akoriz, abbiamo deciso di unire i nostri due stili in un’unica traccia. È così che è nata “Black Eyes” e siamo davvero felici che Verknipt abbia deciso di pubblicarla.
Quando due artisti con identità così distintive si incontrano per lavorare allo stesso progetto, inevitabilmente nasce un nuovo equilibrio creativo. Come avete vissuto questo incontro, sia dal punto di vista creativo che personale?
Akoriz: Personalmente è stato molto stimolante. Ammiro molto Nusha, sia come persona che come producer, quindi lavorare con lei è stata una bellissima esperienza. Il processo di editing sembrava non finire mai, perché ogni volta che uno di noi aggiungeva qualcosa, l’altro aveva una nuova idea. È diventato quasi una competizione tra amici, ma in modo genuino e costruttivo, e credo che proprio quell’energia abbia contribuito a dare forma alla traccia.
NUSHA: Prima abbiamo creato la traccia e solo dopo ci siamo incontrati di persona per la prima volta. Ci siamo scambiati le idee avanti e indietro e, ogni volta, ero curiosa di vedere come si sarebbe evoluta la traccia dopo gli elementi che aggiungevo. Sono davvero felice del risultato e, ogni volta che suono la traccia, la reazione del pubblico è pazzesca. Sono sicura che in futuro faremo altre tracce insieme.
Quali sono state le scelte sonore principali che hanno definito “Black Eyes”? C’è un elemento della produzione che, più di altri, rappresenta l’identità della traccia?
Akoriz: La linea acid e la voce.
NUSHA: La linea acid e la bassline.
La hard techno sta attraversando un periodo di enorme crescita a livello internazionale. In questo contesto, cosa significa per voi mantenere una propria direzione artistica senza lasciarsi influenzare dalle aspettative della scena?
Akoriz: Cerco sempre di mantenere la mia identità e un sound riconoscibile. Naturalmente, presto attenzione a ciò che accade nella scena e mi lascio influenzare dalle cose che mi ispirano, ma senza perdere me stesso. Credo sia importante evolversi insieme alla scena senza limitarsi a seguirne le tendenze.
NUSHA: Suono hard, ma inserisco sempre melodie emozionali. Mi piace suonare un po’ di tutto, combinando beat potenti con linee acid e trance, e a volte anche elementi industriali. È un viaggio, e adoro il fatto che le persone apprezzino le stesse cose che piacciono a me.
Quanto influisce la vostra esperienza sulla pista da ballo sul modo in cui producete musica? In che modo il rapporto con il pubblico alimenta le vostre scelte artistiche?
Akoriz: Tantissimo. La pista da ballo è una delle mie più grandi fonti di ispirazione. È fantastico riuscire a trasformare i propri sentimenti e le proprie emozioni in musica, ma quando vedi il pubblico reagire e provare esattamente ciò che volevi comunicare, è una sensazione incredibile.
NUSHA: Nei miei set, il mio obiettivo è ottenere una reazione del pubblico con ogni traccia. Adoro il modo in cui reagisce e tengo sempre a mente quali sono stati i momenti che ha apprezzato di più, quelli in cui urla più forte. In questo modo posso avere un punto di riferimento per la successiva sessione in studio. Il legame con il pubblico è sempre qualcosa di speciale. Amo tantissimo il mio pubblico e do il meglio di me a ogni party. Senza il pubblico, non saremmo nulla.
Lavorare insieme vi ha permesso di scoprire qualcosa di nuovo sul vostro approccio alla produzione, sulla vostra identità artistica o sul modo in cui vivete la musica? “Black Eyes” arriva su Verknipt Records in un momento importante per entrambe le vostre carriere. Cosa rappresenta questa release nel vostro percorso attuale e dove potrebbe portarvi in futuro?
Akoriz: Ho sicuramente imparato molto da Nusha e dal suo approccio alla produzione. Lavorare insieme ci ha dato l’opportunità di scambiarci idee e imparare l’uno dall’altra, sia musicalmente che a livello personale. “Black Eyes” rappresenta anche un momento importante del mio percorso, quasi come una fotografia di una fase particolare della mia vita. Ho molta nuova musica in arrivo, con alcune direzioni differenti, e sono sicuro che continueremo a lavorare insieme e a realizzare altre collaborazioni in futuro. Sono curioso di vedere dove ci porterà questo nuovo capitolo.
NUSHA: Lavorare con Akoriz è stato bello e naturale. Mi è piaciuto molto il workflow di questa prima collaborazione e, come ho già detto, sicuramente realizzeremo altre tracce insieme in futuro. È la mia seconda release su Verknipt, quindi sono davvero felice di pubblicare nuovamente su questa fantastica label. Speriamo davvero che il pubblico ami la traccia tanto quanto la amiamo noi, perché abbiamo messo tantissima passione e amore in questo disco.
Cosa non avete ancora espresso attraverso la vostra musica e cosa possiamo aspettarci nel prossimo futuro?
Akoriz: Ho molta nuova musica in arrivo e, in parte, esplorerò lati diversi del mio sound. Sono sempre alla ricerca di nuovi modi per esprimermi e portare la mia musica oltre i suoi confini, quindi credo ci siano ancora molte cose che non ho mostrato. Il prossimo capitolo sarà sicuramente interessante.
NUSHA: Sicuramente altra musica e altre collaborazioni! Sto pensando seriamente di tornare a utilizzare la mia voce nelle tracce. Voglio continuare a sperimentare, spingendo i confini della hard techno, ma mantenendo vivi quegli elementi emozionali e trance che mi caratterizzano. Sto anche pensando di coinvolgere maggiormente la mia fanbase nella mia vita, magari attraverso dei vlog durante i tour e cose di questo tipo.

Akoriz and NUSHA come together on “Black Eyes”, a collaboration that brings two of the most distinctive identities in the contemporary hard techno scene into dialogue.
On one side, Akoriz’s approach is rooted in the pursuit of a personal and recognizable sound, evolving with the scene without simply following its trends; on the other, NUSHA’s sonic world blends hard techno with emotional melodies, acid, trance, and occasional industrial influences.
A track where the acid line, bassline, and vocals become the meeting point between two different yet complementary sensibilities, united by a shared desire to transform the energy of the dancefloor into music.
On the occasion of the release of “Black Eyes” on Verknipt Records, we sat down with Akoriz and NUSHA to discuss the origins of their collaboration, their relationship with the dancefloor, and the role of the audience in shaping their artistic choices. The conversation also offers a glimpse into an important stage in both artists’ journeys, from developing their own distinctive identities and exploring new creative directions to future productions, collaborations, and their ambition to keep pushing the boundaries of hard techno without losing its emotional dimension.
Welcome to Parkett, Akoriz and Nusha. Let’s begin with “Black Eyes”, your new collaboration set for release on Verknipt Records. Where did this collaboration actually begin? What was the spark that brought you together in the first place?
Akoriz: The collaboration came about very naturally. Nusha had already been playing some of my records inher sets for quite some time, so we already had a musical connection. One night we were chatting,probably because I had sent her some new music, and at some point the idea came up: “It would becool to make a track together.” We thought, why not give it a try? And that’s how it all started.
NUSHA: For me, this collab started as a challenge. As music connects people, I was playing many of Akoriz’stracks before, and we decided to combine both styles in one track. That’s how “Black Eyes” came to life,and we are very happy that Verknipt signed this one.
When two artists with such distinctive identities come together on the same project, a new creative balance inevitably emerges. How did you experience this meeting, both creatively and personally?
Akoriz: Personally, it was very stimulating. I really admire Nusha both as a person and as a producer, soworking with her was a great experience. The editing process seemed like it would never end, because every time one of us added something, the other had another idea. It almost became a competition between friends, but in a genuine and constructive way, and I think that energy really helped shape the track.
NUSHA: First, we created the track, and after that, we met in real life for the first time. We sent the ideas back and forth, and every time I was curious to see how it would go further after the elements I added to the track. I am really happy with the results, and whenever I play the track, the crowd reaction is insane. I am sure we will do more tracks together in the future.
What were the key sonic choices that shaped “Black Eyes”? Is there a particular element of the production that you feel especially represents the identity of the track?
Akoriz: The acid line and the vocal.
NUSHA: The acid line and the bassline.
Hard techno is going through a period of huge international growth. In this context, what does it mean to you to maintain your own artistic direction without being influenced by the expectations of the scene.
Akoriz: I always try to maintain my own identity and a recognizable sound. Of course, I pay attention to what’s happening in the scene and I’m influenced by things that inspire me, but without losing myself. I think it’s important to evolve with the scene without simply following its trends.
NUSHA: I am playing hard but always with emotional melodies. I love to play a bit of everything, combining hard beats with acid lines and trance, and sometimes even industrial elements here and there. This is a journey, and I love that the people enjoy the same things I do.
How much does your experience on the dancefloor influence the way you produce music? How does your relationship with the audience feed into your artistic decisions?
Akoriz:A lot. The dancefloor is one of my biggest sources of inspiration. It’s great to turn your feelings andemotions into music, but when you see the crowd reacting and feeling exactly what you wanted tocommunicate, it’s an incredible feeling.
NUSHA: In my sets, my goal is to have a crowd reaction for every track. I love the way they react and alwayskeep in mind what they loved most, when they scream louder. This way I can have a reference for the next studio session. The connection with the audience is always special. I love my crowd a lot and give the best of myself for every party. We would be nothing without the audience.
Did working together allow you to discover something new about your approach to production, your artistic identity, or the way you experience music? “Black Eyes” arrives on Verknipt Records at an important point in both of your careers. What does this release represent within your current journey, and where could it lead you next?
Akoriz:I definitely learned a lot from Nusha and from her approach to production. Working together gave us the chance to exchange ideas and learn from each other, both musically and personally. “Black Eyes” also represents an important moment in my journey, almost like a snapshot of a particular phase of my life. I have a lot of new music coming, with some different directions, and I’m sure we’ll continue working together and making more collaborations in the future. I’m curious to see where this new chapter takes us.
NUSHA: Working with Akoriz was nice and easy. I loved the workflow on this first collab and, like I said, we will definitely do some more tracks together in the future. It is my second release on Verknipt, therefore I am really happy to release at this amazing label again. We really hope that the audience will love the track the same as we do, as we put a lot of passion and love into this record.
What would Akoriz and Nusha have not yet expressed through your music and can we expect in the next future?
Akoriz:I have a lot of new music coming, and some of it will explore different sides of my sound. I’m always looking for new ways to express myself and push my music forward, so I think there are still many thingsI haven’t shown yet. The next chapter will definitely be interesting.
NUSHA:More music and more collabs for sure! I am definitely thinking about using my own voice in the tracks again. I want to keep experimenting by pushing the boundaries of hard techno while keeping those emotional and trance elements alive. I’m also thinking of including my fanbase in my life more, maybe vlogs on tour and so on.
