“EXALTED” marks the arrival of Monster Machine’s debut EP, introducing the Australian project of DJ and producer Penny Yang with a track that encapsulates her dynamic, hybrid approach to modern electronic music. As the focus track of the EP, released on November 19, 2025, the collaboration with fellow Australian producer Arky Waters sets the tone for a sound that merges Trap, Dubstep and UKG influences into a distinctive and high-impact sonic identity.
The rhythmic structure of “EXALTED” plays a central role in defining its momentum. The track opens with a steady percussive framework that gradually evolves into a complex blend of syncopated Trap drums and UKG-leaning grooves. This layered rhythm section creates a sense of tension and constant forward motion, supported by precise drum programming that shifts between tight snare rolls, sharp hi-hat patterns and low-end pulses. The interplay between these elements gives the track a fluid yet commanding pace.
The synth work expands this rhythmic foundation with a palette that alternates between sweeping atmospheric pads and aggressive, distortion-tinted lead lines. The sound design carries traces of the cinematic builds associated with Trap while embracing the raw, serrated textures often linked to Dubstep and bass-focused EDM. The contrast between airy melodic motifs and heavy synth drops enhances the track’s dynamic scale, creating a structure that feels both spacious and energetic. Arky Waters’ contribution can be felt in the subtle melodic detailing and in the atmospheric layers that wrap around the core arrangement, enriching its overall depth.
The atmosphere of “EXALTED” positions the track within a forward-thinking EDM landscape. Its blend of intensity, emotional undertones and stylistic fusion showcases a high-quality release that we are pleased to feature on our webzine.
