KR3 Records è pronta al lancio di “Silent Warrior”. Il nuovo EP a cura del pioniere francese Zadig e realizzato in collaborazione con Adriana Lopez e MOD21.
“Silent Warrior”arriva dopo due pubblicazioni che hanno visto in copertina nomi del calibro di Steve Bicknell and Takaaki Itoh. Dimostrando così, già dalla prima uscita, di essere una label ambiziosa che punta da subito ai grandi risultati.
Questa release è caratterizzata da sei tracce che abbracciano la techno in una chiave più moderna e attraversata da una vena di romanticismo, visto che l’intera opera è dedicata ad un caro amico del produttore francese, che purtroppo è deceduto.

Oltre agli original mix e due remix a cura di MOD21 e Adriana Lopez, non possiamo non notare in copertina il nome di Kern Space Adventures. L’alias attraverso la quale Zadig lascia liberare tutte le sue fantasie artistiche più remote.
“Silent Warrior” è disponibile dal 27 aprile 2021 ma noi oggi possiamo farvi ascoltare in anteprima assoluta la traccia che ha dato il nome a questo lavoro discografico: “Silent Warrior”. Per ulteriori info vi invitiamo a dare un’occhiata alla pagina bandcamp della label.
Per mettere completamente a nudo un EP di questa mole, realizzato da un pioniere dell’elettronica che ha saputo nel tempo destreggiarsi tra la scena rave anni 90 francese e i migliori club europei, abbiamo deciso di fare qualche domanda proprio a lui.
Abbiamo preferito farci raccontare direttamente da Zadig le emozioni che lo hanno spinto a realizzare questa opera così profonda ed introversa. Troverete le risposte e i dettagli più interessanti, nell’intervista riportata qui sotto.

Ciao e benvenuto su Parkett. È un vero piacere farti qualche domanda. Il tuo percorso inizia negli anni 90 come protagonista della scena rave normanna. Dopo qualche anno hai lasciato l’acid e l’hardcore per dedicarti alla musica techno. Cosa ti ha spinto a fare questa scelta?
Ciao, grazie per l’invito. Dopo molti anni suonando roba dura, è diventato ovvio che ero alla fine di un ciclo.
La musica non era più così stimolante, le tendenze francesi Core e HardTek stavano dominando e non era la mia tazza di tè, sono cresciuto con Dj come Liza’N’Eliaz, Manu Le Malin e Laurent Hô con più psicotici, suoni e atmosfere psichedeliche.
Così ho deciso di tornare alle origini, ero sempre più attratto dalla musica minimalista, Jeff Mills, Daniel Bell, Robert Hood, Damon Wild e Joey Beltram. Immagino che il gusto cambi e si evolva anni dopo anno.
Negli ultimi tempi, soprattutto a causa della pandemia e delle sue restrizioni, in molti affermano che la cultura rave si stia riaffermando nuovamente. Credi sia vero o pensi che ciò che è accaduto negli anni 90 non si possa più ripetere?
Sì, possiamo dire che le feste di magazzino sono il formato preferito della nuova generazione e sono iniziate prima della pandemia.
Questa tendenza ha iniziato ad essere molto potente a Parigi. Dopo un lungo boom di discoteche, la giovane generazione aveva bisogno di più libertà, qualcosa di diverso e penso che il formato del club fosse in un certo senso troppo restrittivo.
Le persone chiedevano qualcosa di radicalmente diverso, alcune esperienze inaspettate, un luogo dove puoi essere chi vuoi essere, senza restrizioni e paure. E penso che sia più o meno lo stesso dello spirito degli anni ’90.
Oggi siamo qui per presentare il tuo prossimo lavoro discografico, intitolato “Silent Warrior” e in uscita su KR3 Records. Come descriveresti questo EP ai nostri lettori?
Il centro di questo Ep è il brano “Silent Warrior”. Ho iniziato a produrlo alcuni anni fa e a riprodurne una versione incompiuta. Ogni volta le reazioni erano davvero belle, creava qualcosa di abbastanza folle con il pubblico.
Quando Dani di KR3 mi ha chiesto un Ep completo, ho inviato questa versione ed era molto entusiasta. Ho iniziato a lavorare per avere questa versione finale.
Adriana Lopez ha fatto la scelta giusta con il suo remix, è più minimalista e percussivo e riesce a usare il synth in modo diverso e il risultato è molto complementare all’originale. Potrei immaginare di suonare la mia versione subito dopo il suo remix.
L’intro dell’Ep è ispirato all’inizio del mio live al primo release party di KR3 a Milano. Ho usato lo stesso synth e ho lavorato più a fondo per creare un’atmosfera molto stressante, il videogioco Doom è una delle ispirazioni.
Con il lato B, ho cercato di bilanciare l’Ep con il Portal 38, più mentale e vicino al suono del gruppo polare in un certo senso. Mod21 ha utilizzato perfettamente i diversi elementi, con il suo approccio profondo e ipnotizzante, amo così tanto il remix.
Nell’EP oltre a 3 original mix, sono presenti 2 remix e una traccia che hai inciso con il tuo alias Kern Space Adventures. Cosa ti ha spinto a tornare come Kern Space Adventures?
È stata un’idea di Dani. Mi ha chiesto se era giusto includere una pista KSA ed è stata una buona idea secondo me. Il viaggio si conclude con un dipinto molto tranquillo, è interessante creare un contrasto.
Hai qualche progetto in lavorazione di cui vorresti parlare in anteprima?
Ho lavorato a diversi progetti dall’inizio della Pandemia. Le prossime versioni saranno: “Sotor 01”, Ep completo con Oscar Mulero e Perc come remixer.
Alcuni remix e collaborazioni con il mio amico Shaney sulla sua Label S.LAB. Una collaborazione con Julianna per Nuit Sonores.
Alcuni VA per Unrush, Vernacular, Arkham Audio, Aesthetic Circle. Lavoro anche al progetto “Radiant Coda”, una collaborazione con il mio amico Skander e anche ad un progetto live con Kmyle per Astropolis.

Welcome to Parkett, it’s a great pleasure to do this interview. Your career starts in the 90’s as main character of the rave norman rave scene. After some years you quit the acid and hardcore to start your dedication to the techno music. What’s the reason of this choice?
Hello, thanks for the invitation. After many years playing hard stuff, it became obvious that I was at the end of a circle.
The music wasn’t that much inspiring anymore, the French Core and HardTek trends were dominating and it wasn’t my cup of tea, I was raised with Dj’s like Liza’N’Eliaz, Manu Le Malin and Laurent Hô with more psychotics, psychedelic sounds and atmospheres.
So I decided to go back to the roots, I was more and more attracted by minimalistic music, Jeff Mills, Daniel Bell, Robert Hood, Damon Wildand Joey Beltram. I guess taste changes and evolves years after year.
In recent times, mainly due to the pandemic restrictions, Many say that the rave scene is starting to reaffirm again. Do you think it is true or that it’s a reality only of the 90’s ?
Yes we can say that the Warehouse parties are the favorite format of the new generation and It started before the pandemic.
This trend started to be very powerful in Paris. After a long clubbing boom, the young generation needed more freedom, something different and I think the club format was too restrictive in a way.
People asked something radically different, some unexpected experiences, a place where you can be who you want to be, without restrictions and fear. And i think it is quite the same as the 90’s spirit.
Today we’re here to introduce your next release “Silent Warrior” soon on KR3 Records. How would you describe this EP to our audience?
The center of this Ep is the track “Silent Warrior”. I started to produce it a few years ago and to play an unfinished version of it. Every time reactions were really nice, it created something quite crazy with the audience. When Dani of KR3 asked me for a full Ep, I sent this version and he was very enthousiast.
I started to work to have this final version of it. Adriana Lopez made the right choice with her remix, it is more minimalist and percussive and she achieves to use the synth in a different way and the result is very complementary with the original ; I could imagine playing my version just after her remix.
The intro of the Ep is inspired by the beginning of my live at the first KR3 release party in Milan. I used the same synth and worked deeper to create a very stressful vibe, Doom video game is one of the inspirations.
With the B side, i tried to balance the Ep with Portal 38, more mental and close to Pole Group sound in a way. Mod 21 used the different elements perfectly, with his deep and mesmerizing approach, i love the remix so much.
In this EP, in addition to 3 original mixes and 2 remixes, there’s a track that you recorded under your alias Kern Space Adventures. What prompted you to reuse as Kern Space Adventures?
It was Dani’s idea. He asked me if it was ok to include a KSA track and it was a good idea in my opinion. The trip ends with a very peaceful painting, it is interesting to create a contrast.
Do you have any future plans to introduce in preview?
I also work on the “Radiant Coda” project, a collab with my friend Skander and also on a live project with Kmyle for Astropolis.
