Siamo stati ospiti di Awakenings Festival 2025, il più grande evento estivo dei Paesi Bassi. Ecco a voi le nostre sensazioni e impressioni della seconda giornata di festival.
Lo scorso weekend siamo stati ospiti di Awakenings Festival 2025 nella sua quarta edizione ad Hilvarenbeek, vicino Tilburg. E’ anche la quarta volta che Awakenings organizza un campeggio per facilitare la permanenza degli oltre 95000 partecipanti arrivati da oltre 100 paesi durante le tre giornate di eventi.
Gli organizzatori hanno praticamente pensato a tutto, al fine di rendere il soggiorno confortevole: Relax Resort e Comfort Camping, cottages, tende pre-installate ed un supermercato aperto h24, tenendo sempre d’occhio l’importanza della sostenibilità per un evento di tali dimensioni, mettendo a disposizione un sistema di compensazione di CO2, un menu 100% vegetariano e uno smart energy plan.
Il festival si è svolto tra foreste lussureggianti e un lago tranquillo nel parco di Beekse Bergen, creando un ambiente perfettamente integrato tra natura e spettacolo. Tra grovigli di alberi, zone relax con amache, aree chill‑out e spiagge artificiali, si alternano momenti di calma a intensi momenti di danza, permettendo di ricaricare mente e corpo prima di immergersi di nuovo nella folla pulsante.
Nell’edizione di quest’anno, abbiamo attraversato ben otto stages (outdoor e indoor) sparsi attraverso il parco. Sicuramente il primo e più importante di tutti è l’Area V, il main stage, dove abbiamo trascorso momenti incredibili con la musica e l’energia di Miss Monique, Adam Beyer che ha scatenato un’ondata di adrenalina con kick profondi e percussioni che hanno trascinato l’intera pista in un vortice di energia pura, il ‘padrone di casa’ Joris Voorn e Carl Cox che ormai è parte integrante della famiglia Awakenings.
L’Area Y è stata la cattedrale della techno dove DJ Rush ha stupito tutti con un set old school.
L’Area B, lo stage più architettonico caratterizzato da un soffitto flottante tale da sentirsi camminare sull’acqua dove il b2b tra Jamie Jones e Joseph Capriati ha fatto ballare tutti grazie a una miscela di deep-house e techno.
L’Area C, il primo stage che abbiamo visitato. Giusto in tempo per goderci il set di Damian Lazarus ed entrare nel mood del festival con un set melodico e a tratti psichedelico. Inizio perfetto sotto la volta degli alberi.
L’Area X è stato uno degli indoor stages. Il nostro viaggio sonico per eccellenza: Richie Hawtin che ha proposto il suo stile essenziale ma coinvolgente.
L’Area S, un piccolo palco tra lo stage C ed A che ci ha dato l’impressione di essere in un rave in mezzo alla foresta.
Awakenings Festival 2025 ha confermato la sua natura di esperienza totale: un mix calibrato di energia brutale, bellezza emotiva, contesti naturali e produzione spettacolare. Il festival non è stato solo un evento: è stata una micro‑utopia temporanea, un luogo in cui musica, natura e tecnologia si fondono perfettamente. Dal viaggio introspettivo di Damian Lazarus al climax ascendente del set di Carl Cox, è stato un percorso indimenticabile nel cuore della musica elettronica più autentica. Per chi desidera vivere il meglio del sound, della produzione e delle emozioni, Awakenings resta un’esperienza irrinunciabile.

We have been guests at Awakenings Festival, the largest summer event in the Netherlands. Here are our feelings and impressions from the second day of the festival.
On July 12th, we attended Awakenings Festival 2025 for its fourth edition in Hilvarenbeek, near Tilburg. It’s also the fourth time that Awakenings has organized a campsite to accommodate the more than 95,000 attendees from over 100 countries during the three days of events.
The organizers truly thought of everything to make the stay comfortable: Relax Resort and Comfort Camping, cottages, pre-installed tents, and a 24/7 supermarket. They also kept sustainability in mind for an event of this scale, offering a CO₂ compensation system, a 100% vegetarian menu, and a smart energy plan.
The festival took place among lush forests and a tranquil lake in the Beekse Bergen park, creating a setting perfectly balanced between nature and spectacle. Amid tangled trees, relaxation zones with hammocks, chill-out areas, and artificial beaches, moments of calm alternated with intense dance sessions, allowing attendees to recharge body and mind before diving back into the pulsing crowd.
This year’s edition featured eight stages (both outdoor and indoor) spread throughout the park. The first and most important was Area V, the main stage, where we experienced incredible moments with the music and energy of Miss Monique, Adam Beyer—who unleashed a wave of adrenaline with deep kicks and percussion that swept the entire dancefloor into a vortex of pure energy—the “host” Joris Voorn, and Carl Cox, who is now an integral part of the Awakenings family.
Area Y was the cathedral of techno, where DJ Rush amazed everyone with an old-school set.
Area B, the most architecturally striking stage, featured a floating ceiling that made you feel like you were walking on water. The back-to-back set by Jamie Jones and Joseph Capriati had everyone dancing with a blend of deep house and techno.
Area C was the first stage we visited—just in time to enjoy Damian Lazarus’ set and get into the festival mood with a melodic and at times psychedelic performance. A perfect start under the canopy of trees.
Area X was one of the indoor stages. It was our ultimate sonic journey: Richie Hawtin delivered his signature minimal yet captivating style.
Area S, a small stage between stages C and A, gave us the feeling of being at a rave in the middle of the forest.
Awakenings Festival 2025 confirmed its nature as a total experience: a carefully balanced mix of raw energy, emotional beauty, natural settings, and spectacular production. The festival wasn’t just an event—it was a temporary micro-utopia, a place where music, nature, and technology merged seamlessly. From the introspective journey of Damian Lazarus to the ascending climax of Carl Cox’s set, it was an unforgettable journey into the heart of the most authentic electronic music.
